TOP indie wrestler Ricochet is set to join the WWE in a stunning deal in January, it has emerged.
The ex-New Japan Pro Wrestling ace has made a name for himself outside of the leading company with his impressive in-ring performances.
The 29-year-old is understood to be joining the WWE's development show NXT in January.
He will start training at the high-tech Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, US, from the new year.
Ricochet is considered one of, if not, the best wrestler in the world not signed to WWE, due to his high-flying antics.
The American has worked across the independent circuit for a number of years, gaining a huge following along the way.
He has worked for NJPW, winning numerous titles, Lucha Underground and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
Ricochet is a free agent, and available to sign with any company he wishes.
It is thought he could make his debut for the WWE at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia on January 27, according to WrestlingInc.
The show kicks-off the night before the Royal Rumble, and is the start of the Road to WrestleMania.
Ricochet won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team title three-times during his NJPW days.
