WWE has just announced that a title match is official for tomorrow's (Mon. January 8, 2018) episode of Monday Night RAW.
Enzo Amore has been scheduled to defend his Cruiserweight Title against Cedric Alexander for a few weeks now after Alexander won a No. 1-contender's match against Drew Gulak a few weeks ago on RAW.
Unfortunately Amore has been unable to defend his title after being sick for the past week. He worked the WWE's annual holiday live event tour last weekend and worked that entire week with Kalisto.
Amore did not work the event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and avoided going to the hospital there, instead waiting until he flew to Miami, Florida for last week's RAW.
He received IV treatment at a local hospital before traveling to the RAW stadium hours before the show. Despite his protests to allow him to compete, WWE officials sent "The Realest Guy In The Room" back to his hotel and ordered him to rest up in fear of him being contagious.
Now it seems that Amore is ready to make his in-ring return tomorrow night, as WWE has announced that the title match against Alexander is finally set to go down:
“It is now official that Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore will defend his Cruiserweight Title against Cedric Alexander tomorrow night on Raw.
“The match, originally scheduled to take place last week, had to be postponed after The Certified G was hospitalized with the flu.
"However, with Amore now out of the hospital and ready to compete, he will square off against one of the most dynamic and toughest challengers to his title reign – 205 Live standout Alexander.
“Will Enzo be at full health for the title contest, or will Raw be Cedric’s night to rise to the top of the Cruiserweight division? And how will the Zo Train factor into the major championship match? Find out tomorrow night on Raw!”
