Chris Jericho recently made headlines for his appearance at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 12, where he battled Bullet Club's Kenny Omega.
But as he prepares for an appearance at WWE Raw 25 Monday night, it is important to remember his many contributions to WWE since his debut with Vince McMahon's company in August 1999.
From his initial verbal spar with The Rock to his heartbreaking performance in 2017's Festival of Friendship, Jericho has taken fans on an emotional roller coaster that has been sometimes great, sometimes bad and often outrageous.
But one thing is for certain: Everything he has accomplished has helped establish himself as one of the greatest Superstars to ever lace a pair of boots.
As he embarks on another appearance for the company that made him a household name among wrestling fans, relive this special List of Jericho.
Drink it in, maaaaaan.

The millennium countdown ticked down to zero, interrupting The Rock as he cut a promo on his opponents, and the name "JERICHO" appeared on the Titan Tron. His arms outstretched, Chris Jericho made his first appearance in WWE in as grand a fashion as imaginable.
Promising to save Raw from the monotony it had descended into, he was every bit the arrogant showman he had been in WCW, where he first earned the attention of the wrestling world.
He was verbally smacked down by The Rock, but the impression he left on the fans made it possible for him to wade through the cavalcade of poor creative decisions that dominated his early days in the company.

The April 17, 2000, episode of Raw emanated from State College, Pennsylvania, and featured an explosive start to the show.
A cunning Jericho convinced Triple H to put the WWE Championship on the line in a match between them. With the APA at ringside to negate interference from the McMahon-Helmsley regime, Jericho was able to use the championship to blast The Game, deliver a Lionsault and score his first world title.
Controversy reigned supreme when questions over referee Earl Hebner's count and bias against Triple H reared their heads.
Jericho was ultimately stripped of the title, the decision reversed and his historic victory scrubbed from the history books.
Still, the reaction from the fans was the first indication that the WWE Universe would accept Jericho as a lead babyface and world champion. It also is evidence of a booking decision that probably should have stood rather than being negated so quickly.

The summer of 2000 brought with it a blossoming rivalry between the silver-tongued Jericho and the spoiled Billion Dollar Princess, Stephanie McMahon. As a result, Y2J incurred the wrath of Triple H, who was booked in a Last Man Standing match against the charismatic Canadian at Fully Loaded in July.
The match, often overlooked as the instant classic it was, showcased a new side of Jericho.
Recognized for his one-liners and ability to crack jokes at the expense of his rivals, he was never really presented as a double-tough fighter. That changed when he met The Cerebral Assassin.
Jericho withstood a tremendous beating, as he was pummeled and punished for the majority of the match but refused to give up.
He fought through the proverbial crimson mask and came within seconds of winning the match. Unfortunately, a Pedigree through the announce table would end his night in disappointment.
In reality, though, the match was a breakout one for Jericho, who was much better off than he was entering the bout.

Chris Jericho has been part of a handful of outrageous, ridiculous programs, including bets of bedding women for one dollar (Canadian!) and jokes of him and partner Christian using Ass Cream.
Perhaps nothing he did in WWE was more outrageous than the feud with Kane in late 2000 that saw them war for months over spilled coffee.
Yes, two of the greatest Superstars to ever lace a pair of boots in WWE were at the mercy of a creative team with no better way to bring them together than by having Y2J accidentally spill coffee on The Big Red Monster.
The matches that came out of the angle were fairly decent and showcased Jericho's ability to work with Superstars of varying sizes and styles, but in the end, the most memorable element of the entire program was its ridiculous genesis.

Late 2001 brought with it the greatest push of Chris Jericho's WWE career to that point. He defeated The Rock to capture the WCW Championship at No Mercy that October and was consistently involved in the most prominent matches in the rivalry between WWE and The Alliance.
A heel turn late in the year and the continuation of his program with The Rock earned him one of four spots in the Vengeance main event to crown the first Undisputed Champion in company history.
Jericho defeated Rock to regain the WCW Championship, then he benefited from outside interference from Booker T and Vince McMahon to defeat Steve Austin for the WWE Championship.
In doing so, he unified the two most historically significant titles of the 1990s together and forever etched his name in the history books. He also earned unending heat for claiming to have beaten Rock and Austin on the same night.
The moment was the greatest of his career to that point.

After capturing the Undisputed Championship at Vengeance in December 2001, Jericho was the clear favorite to enter WrestleMania X-8 as the Undisputed Champion. At the event, he would defend his title against Royal Rumble winner Triple H.
What could have been a strong story that built on their intense rivalry of years past never formulated.
Instead, champion Jericho became the third wheel in a melodrama involving The Game and newly estranged wife Stephanie McMahon. He was belittled and humiliated by the Billion Dollar Princess and was even relegated to walking the once-happy couple's dog.
He was never treated with the respect he deserves, nor was he presented in a way that suggested he had a chance in hell of retaining in Toronto.
It did him a disservice and led to a dead crowd for the main event of wrestling's most prestigious show.

In 2005, Chris Jericho walked away from WWE. He was burned out on the wrestling business and seeking something new and fresh to do.
In November of 2007, he was ready to return to the company.
There was a ton of hype surrounding the return videos and genuine excitement from fans who had missed Jericho's contributions to the show. The night after Survivor Series, he was set to step back on to the Raw stage and begin a rivalry with Randy Orton over the WWE Championship.
Unfortunately, his return felt too much like a retread of his successful first debut.
There was little in the way of creative success, and the result was a lackluster return. So lackluster, in fact, that he would turn heel six months into his second run with the company and embark on what would be his most acclaimed stretch.

It would be appropriate to single out matches and moments from Jericho's heel run in 2008-09 as the best of his career, but it would be a great disservice to the entire run to do so.
From the moment he turned heel by throwing Shawn Michaels face-first through the Jeri-Tron through his Intercontinental Championship rivalry with Rey Mysterio the following summer, there was no better professional wrestler or storyteller than Y2J.
Channeling Anton Chigurh of No Country for Old Men, Jericho was a calculating assassin. He talked slowly and methodically. He was more vicious and vile than ever before. His hatred for Michaels alone led him down a path of pathetic and despicable actions.
He nearly ended his childhood hero's career, punched Mrs. Michaels square in the face and insulted the heritage of Mysterio.
He was completely unlikable and wholly invested in his persona. The result was a captivating and engaging character that today, 10 years later, is still fondly remembered for the quality of television it produced and the quality of performer Jericho was throughout.

In 2013, Jericho returned to the WWE fold and was curiously programmed with newcomer Fandango.
Yes, future Hall of Famer Jericho was put in a position to get ballroom dancer Fandango over with the WWE Universe.
Originally intending to work with Ryback, as he revealed in his 2017 autobiography No Is a Four Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling But Succeeded in Life, he was not overly excited about the prospects of working with a character created by McMahon to capitalize on Jericho competing on Dancing With The Stars.
But he did, delivering the best match of the WrestleMania card against the relatively unknown performer.
He even did the job, ensuring Fandango would leave a lasting impression right out of the gate.
It is even more unfortunate for Jericho, then, that WWE Creative wasted his star power by allowing Fandango to become what he has some five years later.

What began as a short-term pairing grew into an enormously popular and entertaining partnership between Jericho and Kevin Owens that saw them become the centerpiece of Raw.
They warred with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins throughout the fall and winter of 2016 before a misstep by Jericho, which saw him accept a Universal Championship defense against Goldberg on behalf of Owens, led to irreconcilable differences.
In Las Vegas, Jericho presented a Festival of Friendship aimed at showing his appreciation for his best bud.
Owens had different plans.
In a shocking moment of betrayal and heartbreak, he assaulted Jericho, throwing him through a television and delivering a Popup Powerbomb on the ring apron.
The divorce was the emphasis for their rivalry, which would carry through the spring.
